  CHURCH MINISTRIES

We perceive ourselves to be a family and we are always pleased to have others join our family. We are simply a group of Christians gathered together to worship God and we consider it a privilege to have others proclaim with us the joys of God's love for us in Christ.

We use the term family because the Scripture does, as it speaks of those who have come to a personal faith in Jesus Christ. We are likened to a body with many parts and yet are one unit. The body only functions properly when all the parts are working together, so we stress the importance of unity, mutual respect, appreciation, and a sincere love for every member.

So we invite you to join us and we pray that if you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ, you will do so today. Then, and only then, will you find true hope, peace, and meaning in this life. In addition, we pray that you will grow in your relationship with Him and that, together with us, you will share His glorious love with others!

Our Pastor is Rev. Charles Lucchesi. He comes to us after having served on the staff of the New Hyde Park Baptist Church, Pastor LucchesiNew Hyde Park, NY and as head Pastor of The Grace Evangelical Church, Concord, NH. He wife, Barbara Studer Lucchesi, was a former missionary in Lima, Peru. In June of 2007, they adopted a young Chinese boy, Matthew Yalei Lucchesi, now just over two years old.

Pastor Charles is a dynamic and gifted speaker, his messages from the Word of God are very easy to understand. We have come to see that he has a great love for individuals of all ages, young and old. We invite you to come, hear him and meet him.

In order to further acquaint you with the ministries of the church, we list below the different outreaches that are available to members and friends:

In our outreach to the community, we offer these programs:

Sunday Morning Worship: Sunday School for children 2 years on up through adulthood at 9:45 AM. Sunday Worship at 11:00 AM.

Nursery: Held during the Sunday worship service for infants through three years of age. Supervision includes at least two adults in our newly decorated nursery facility.

Junior Church: Held during the Sunday worship service for ages four through eight. Supervised by at least two adults.

Senior High Group: Young people meet every other Sunday night. Activities vary. Details can be found in the Calendar portion of the Website.

Girl’s Club: Meetings are at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesdays for girls in school grades one through 6. Two separate groups are well attended with ample supervision. The girls work on arts and crafts, cook, participate in games, and have Bible lessons each meeting. On certain occasions family members are asked to join the girls for a special meeting.

Senior Citizens: Meet every other month on the third Tuesday for a luncheon. The Pastor brings a spiritual message after the meal, followed by a guest speaker. All are welcome. Details can be found in the Calendar portion of this website.

Family Fellowship Dinners: From time to time the church members and friends are invited to participate in fellowship dinners. These spontaneous dinners are well received and all attending enjoy the time spent with old and new friends of Calvary.

Adult/Teen Basketball: Each Friday night the youth and men of the church gather to play basketball, enjoying the beautiful gym that we are blessed with. At a rest break, a spiritual lesson will be presented to those attending.
